MATCH REPORT
21 April 2007
Essex Olympian Football League
Reserve Division One
Epping 0 v Rayleigh Town 1
A disappointing end to our home
campaign. A performance of total lethargy a season of high promise looks like
turning into one of disappointment. With the odd exception the players never
turned up for the game. A lack of desire and effort epitomised a lack lustre
show. It all started so well. Adam Connolly scoring after 15 minutes . Adam
playing his second of three games set about the game in the right manner and is
clearly a talented individual who just seems to enjoy playing football.
Alongside him James Kelly worked as hard as usual and in the centre of defence
Grey and Webster were outstanding. Webster in particular show what a player he
is..At left back Nick Dainton once again proved the possession of ability means
you can play anywhere. Epping held the lead at half time but despite being
warned to up their game or risk losing the second half was probably the most
disappointing forty five minutes of football this season . Two defensive errors
combined with a lack of tracking back resulted in the home side conceding two
goals and the points. In fairness the better more determined side on the day
won.
